Erica Stern lives and writes in Evanston, Illinois. She received her undergraduate degree in English from Yale and an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago as a Dean's Scholar. Her fiction has been featured in, among other publications, Hobart, Flyway (Best of the Net nominee), and Juked. She has nonfiction forthcoming from Meridian, which named her work as a finalist in their Short Prose Contest. Her memoir-in-progress (THE SOFT PARTS) was long-listed for the PANK Magazine Book Prize. An excerpted version received an honorable mention in the Ninth Letter 2020 Literary Awards, and was listed as a semi-finalist in CutBank’s Annual Chapbook Contest.
Erica has received fellowship and grant support for her work from the Martha’s Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing and the Vermont Studio Center.
